Nancy Elizabeth Dotson, 86, of Roanoke Rapids and formerly of Roanoke, VA, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Dotson was the daughter of the late Tom Hawkins and Gladys Garst Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James William Dotson, Sr.

She is survived by her son, James William ''Jim'' Dotson, Jr. and his wife, Mildred, of Littleton; her daughter, Carolyn Meador and her husband, Charles, of Blue Ridge, VA; four grandchildren, Christy Dotson Harrell, Stephanie Carlyle, Robin Meador, and Ann Marie Meador; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 27, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the home of her son at 424 Oak Grove Church Rd, Littleton, NC.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke, VA with Tony Hall officiating.
